Week 6 Story Revision

Egyptian Sisters There once was two sisters, Chione and Dalilah, whom lived in a very rich garden full of every fruit and flower you could imagine. They loved to spend their time running through the garden playing tag and smelling the sweet flowers. They would sit and enjoy a basket of fruit they had collected, talking about how they wanted to marry a prince and live in a beautiful palace with their own gardens. One day their father overheard them talking about marriage and knew the time had come. Upon the next day he called Chione out from the garden to come meet a guest. The guest was nicely dressed and spoke of taking Chione to his land and living happily with her never having to do any work. Chione thought that he must have been the prince she had been dreaming and longing for. She agreed to marry him and by the evening they were husband and wife. Hannah the Hedgehog THERE was once a countryman who had money and plenty of land but yet he was unhappy for he had no children. One day he became so upset he said, "I will have a child, even if it be a hedgehog." However when his wife conceived that hedgehog child, the man was still unhappy. Hannah the Hedgehog saw daily how unhappy her parents were to have her and thought of an idea. "Dear father, I will ride away and never come back again only if you bring me a fiddle from the market." The father rushed off to get a fiddle and not only did he get any old fiddle, but the very best one in hopes this would make the child stay away. Hannah took the fiddle and left as she had promised for that's all she had. She went deep into the forest and managed to find home in a mulberry bush where she played her fiddle day in and day out. Once way back in a time long ago lived this old lady. She had snow white hair, a very round back, and a mole the size of a blueberry, on the corner of her lip. The old lady was seen to be out roaming upon the lands only late at night. However every night, when the moon was its highest, she would stop at a small pond and gaze at the castle that lie ahead. She would sit and stare at the illuminated castle for hours until the sun was near the horizon.  One night the old lady felt as though she was not alone and called out to her surroundings, "Who goes there?"  she called and received an answer from a very beautiful girl who wore the brightest of colors and of which the fabric was the best.  "It is I, for I have a secret that is eating me away! "Sir it's that time again.", stated one little elf. He was so excited that his little cheeks were rosy red.  "You're right Sam!", exclaimed the big jolly man himself. "We better get started before we get behind. Go and spread the word to all the other elves and let's get the workshop going!"  This was the time of year when the air is filled with chill and the wind carries the sweet smell of pies and cakes. It's Christmas time, the jolliest time of the year! So you better watch out, and you better not cry. Week 7 Story: A Woman Who's Shape Was Stolen

Lion Attack There were a group of women whom seeked out roots, herbs, and other wild food. On day, on a trip home they became hungry and decided to eat something from the fields. They noticed that a woman's herbs were particularly good while all of the others' were not. The woman, who had picked all the delicious herbs and food, over heard the other women talking about her. They made her throw away her wonderful herbs which really saddened her. She decided that she wasn't going to listen to them and ran into the woods where she came upon a hare. "Give me some water that I may drink", she requested of the hare. The hare responded that he had borrowed the cup from his uncle lion and she could not drink from it. Once again she asked only to be met with the same reply. At this point she was pretty frustrated and thought what kind of hare has an uncle lion. Therefore, she snatched the cup away and teased the little rabbit claiming how she would not be scare...

They had just come from spending the whole day with grandma and grandpa. Before they left, grandma was begging them not to get on the road that late, for the moon was approaching mid sky and bad things tend to roam that late. The father insisted on getting back home since he had work the next day. So Grandpa, the mother’s dad, went back inside their home to get yellow corn pollen to bless the family on their way but little to his luck they had already gotten into the car. He noticed out the corner of his eye the little one’s doll and quickly said a blessing and ran it out to the car. The little one was no more than two years old and had already fallen asleep so he tucked the soft doll right under her arm.
